What is Upsell?

Offering an additional, higher-value product immediately after the initial purchase — usually doubles AOV when done right.

The longer answer.

An upsell is an offer presented to a buyer immediately after they complete a primary purchase. The buyer is in 'buying mode' — payment details already entered, decision energy already spent — so conversion on a well-matched upsell is far higher than on a fresh sales page. Examples: digital product purchase → upsell to community membership; course purchase → upsell to 1:1 coaching; coaching purchase → upsell to year-long retainer. Kavieo's funnel templates include pre-built upsell flows for each product type.
