How to monetize a newsletter — the operator's playbook.

1. Layer revenue, don't depend on subs.

Paid sub: 2% of list. Products: 5% of list. Course: 1% of list. Coaching: 0.1% (high ticket). Combine all four.

2. Migrate off Substack to keep more money.

Substack takes 10%. Kavieo takes 1–5%. On 10k paid subs at $5/mo = $50k/mo, that's $5k/mo Substack vs $500-2500 Kavieo.
